The innovative app enables Environmental Consulting Groups, PSOs, MMOs and other stakeholders the ability to streamline data collection, optimize data accuracy and assure data QA/QC throughout a project lifecycle.
With astonishing performance and powerful features, including all-day battery life, WatchSpotter EV utilizes Apple iPad tablets replacing the need for bulky laptops. Equipped with portable Bluetooth GPS devices, WatchSpotter EV eliminates the need for antiquated cables and hockey pucks that notoriously overheat. With on-tablet mass storage, there is no longer a need for third-party plug-in hard drives.

When a PSO/spotter is on watch and an animal is sighted, the spotter will have the ability from the iPad to enter details on the sighting on the spot. The app will automatically provide GPS coordinates, elevation, ships bearing and the ability to quickly calculate the heading of the animal. Easily and quickly add data by answering all the pre-determined questions.
The app is so easy and intuitive that very little training is needed.
Real-time satellite marine weather with 15 weather covariates are automatically added to every spot.
Embedded in the app is real-time vessel intelligence from terrestrial and satellite AIS data feeds.
Safeguards are in place to prevent misinformation and the app walks the spotter through the entire sighting in minutes. Spreadsheet style data entry forms are a thing of the past.
Anytime afterwards the PSO can review their spots and edit or add any additional information needed such as water depth, weather or any ship associated data.
