Our Story
With a passion for environmental science and conservation, coupled with a nerdy love of database and computer technology, WatchSpotter was quite literally born out of frustration from using a poorly designed data collection application. Programs that were forms based or that needed a specialized degree were simply infuriating- and as Founder, Anne Sleeman put it –“completely unnecessary”, “let’s build something better!”
Women owned and science focused with decades spanning scientific research and database development, we knew that we were uniquely positioned to develop a science-focused, data-driven application.

Our experience with science and technology startups furthered our understanding of the importance of offering a user-friendly, cost-effective application that scientists can implement in a short amount of time with minimal training required.
